Staff appointments

Radha Bhardwaj, Executive Director

The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Radha Bhardwaj to the position of Executive Director of the AIDS Committee of York Region.  Radha was appointed to the position of Acting Executive Director in January 2007 and has been working at the organization since March 2006.

Radha has more than seven years of experience in the social service sector. Her experience includes community development, policy development, program management, and enhancing equity in social service organizations serving diverse populations.  Radha holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto. 

The Board of Directors also wishes to thank Dawn Austin, the outgoing Executive Director, for her contributions to the organization.  We wish her success in her future endeavours.

Haran Vijayanathan, Program Manager for Support Services

Executive Director Radha Bhardwaj is pleased to announce the appointment of Haran Vijayanathan to the position of Program Manager for Support Services of the AIDS Committee of York Region.  

Haran has worked for AIDS Service Organizations in Toronto and possesses a strong understanding of the diverse needs of individuals from the LGBTTQ community and those living with HIV/AIDS. More recently, Haran has been working with newcomers to Canada and brings an understanding of the programs and services developed for newcomers.  Please feel free to contact Haran by e-mail at supportacyr@bellnet.ca or through the numbers listed below.

Radha would also like to wish a fond farewell to Alexandra Dean, the outgoing Program Manager for Support Services, for her contributions last year. The organization wishes her success in her future endeavours. 

Haran joins Jacqui Locke, Coordinator of Events and Volunteer Services. Jacqui brought valuable volunteer training and management skills to ACYR through her work in the non-profit sector as well as the for-profit sector.  Her background in project management and customer service is a valuable addition to our organization.
