About Us:

My House is an inclusive and safe space. Those who identify with the LGBTQ+ community and their allies can access information and resources on services, arts and culture, and volunteer opportunities. A comprehensive collection of Queer literature and books is available that can be borrowed for personal use. Space is provided for members to gather as a community to form social supports and organize recreational activities to improve their overall health and wellness, and that of the LGBTQ+ community in York Region. Groups are on an open drop-in basis:

YRGSA – (York Region Gay Straight Alliance)

A youth-led group for LGBTTIQQ2SA+ people in secondary school and their allies to talk about school, social issues, and various queer related topics; Providing support across all the secondary schools within the region and extending knowledge and education out into the community.

For Ages 13 – 19
2nd and 4th Mondays of each month                       6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Markham Pride (East York Region Gender & Sexuality Alliance)

A casual social group for LGBTTIQQ2SA+ secondary school students across Markham and the surrounding regions, where people can meet to discuss their experiences in school, hang out, and generally find a welcoming and supporting community.

For Ages 13 – 19
2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month                       6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

York Region Rainbow Umbrella

Themed meetings for youth to address issues and concerns that are common outside of and within the community and to ensure that whether LGBTTIQQ2SA+ or an ally, all are provided with an opportunity to learn in a safe, welcoming space.

All Ages welcome  
2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month                      6:00 pm –8:00 pm

Rainbow Youth Group – York Region

This group allows youth to connect with others during difficult and challenging times in their lives, and to receive support. This is also a fun social space for LGBTTIQQ2SA+ youth to feel acceptance, to feel proud of whom they are, to make new friends and to share positive experiences.

 For Ages 26 and under  
1st and 4th Mondays of each month                        7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
